James and Zoe tied the knot
12th December 2008
James's uncle Tim wrote this for us, and read it aloud at our wedding. It went down very well! Thanks Tim!
Now let it be said before we begin
A piece of advice I can share for my sin
You should have thought and then changed your mind
About asking me to write words that rhymed!
As a wise young Uncle I should offer advice
About marriage and love and all things nice
Instead it seems with a fair reflection
That it's up to me to tell stories with affection
I visited the website and marvelled at its glory
The story of love found in a supermarket was the story
No nightclub or bar or romantic sunset beach
You met in aisle three between washing powder and bleach!
A cleaner start now I am sure you couldn't have found
It could have been cat litter, dog food or mince by the pound
But no you found finest the best and priceless in time
Ten items or less, discount points and a major love sign
Within a month amongst the kissing and slush
You moved right in to live over the brush
A two bed flat I am told that it was
And just to please Granny and only because..!
James I remember as a wide eyed young boy
Playing in the bath with a boy's favourite toy!
He loved that duck, and his bicycle too
And now he loves Zoe and he's said his 'I do'
Zoe I've met but only today
Quite lucky for her I am sure some of you may say
To marry into this lot you must be brave and barmy
Wa Geordies ye na and support the Toon army!
That James and Zoe website it gives us your life
A countdown to today as you became man and wife
A degree in renewable energy and one for the net
I guess you'll be shopping online for a wind farm I bet!
A dog called Homily and a whirlwind romance
From Cornwall and Birmingham you fell into a lover's trance
One loves the Wii and is a self confessed geek
The other loves reading so when will they speak?
A toast I think and not from the bread aisle
So raise your glasses as the bride and groom smile
To James and Zoe we wish you great cheer
May your love last eternal and hold you no fear!
